“Life is a Circus” is a series of sculptures based on circus performers as a metaphor for human frailty. Each piece represents human emotion: dominance,  denial, hubris, fear.

Sculpture titled Ringmaster
The Ringmaster
The Ringmaster, a harsh and frightening figure, demands performance from her terrified subject.

“Ringmaster” is part of a series titled “Life is a Circus”. Jumping through hoops my whole life taught me to be silent no matter what. As a child I was belittled, insulted and made to feel worthless.  I obeyed no matter the cost; i was expected to perform. Carrying this burden into adulthood, ultimately I found solace in my artwork.  My voice can now be heard.
